We saw the Coen brothers movie "A Serious Man" over the weekend. I laughed hysterically, mostly because the characters were absurd yet oddly accurate. It is about a Jewish family living in the 1960's in a small mid-western town. The family seems to be cursed, and nothing goes right for the lead actor who is a stereotypical Jewish man - wimpy and a push-over. I highly recommend it.
My advice for today: Learn to laugh at yourself. Watching "A Serious Man" reminded me to laugh at my own culture, community and religion - considering we often take ourselves way too seriously.
